One semester down, a second in full swing, have you stopped to self-assess, to re-assess? If your grades were at the top of the class, then you might not need to change a thing --unless of course you can find a way to keep those high grades and round out the rest of the day-to-day more fully (more sleep, more exercise, more time with family and friends.) You may be in interviewing mode, getting ready for summer jobs.
But, what if grades were not what you'd hoped first semester? What are you doing about that now? Did you?
-meet with the profs who gave you lower grades and ask how your exams could have been improved?
-re-write your essay question yourself, with your books open, to learn and master any areas you were tested on and didn't know?
-meet with the ASP director and/or sign up for any of the Spring workshops offered in your law school?
-put yourself on a study schedule this semester that involves practice tests under timed conditions, as well as reading and briefing cases?
-get a more disciplined study schedule in place?
-eliminate or reduce distractions that took time away from your studying?
If you have not used the first semester to learn from and help steer you toward improving this semester, you are missing out on a great opportunity. Get started right away. Learn from whatever work you have done so far in law school, to help you get where you need to be to produce better grades and cultivate more effective, efficient, and productive study habits. Consult the experts available to you for help --namely, the folks in your academic support office, the dean of students, and your professors!
Review the many tips and suggestions in previous entries on this blog and consult the PASS the Bar Exam blog for other study strategies that may be helpful both in law school and when you prepare for the bar exam. And, good luck to you!

Thanks for the cool badgees! When do we find out who the Petties nominees are???
